How do I update Profile Field values in Alchemy for multiple documents?

When you need to update a profile field with a new value, you have two options. Sometimes it is best accomplished by performing a search and replace if PHP you know one value needs to change to another value such as when a vendor changes their name. Other times, you may find that Batch Profile is a good option to set a value for a profile field for a selection of documents even when the field may already have different values in it. These actions can only be done from an Alchemy Administrator or Index Station desktop application.

Search and Replace – Replace Tab

From the menu bar, select Tools > Replace…

  1. Specify your search criteria used to find documents
  2. Specify your replacement text used to update the profile field with
  3. Specify your database to limit the scope of the Search and Replace

Search and Replace – Document Profile Tab

From the Document Profile tab of the Replace cheap MLB jerseys dialog,

  1. Limit the scope of the Replace Trends operation by selecting the profile fields you wish to search and replace within.

In this example, only the Document Tags field for documents matching the Search criteria will be updated.

Search and Replace – Folder Profile Tab

From the Folder Profile tab of Conversion the Replace dialog,

  1. Limit the scope of the Replace world! operation by selecting the profile fields you wish to search and replace within.
  2. Click the Replace button to perform the Search and Replace when all criteria has been specified.

In this example, no Folder will have the Document Tags field updated.

Option 2 – Batch Profile

Get a selection of documents in the Alchemy view pane by browsing or getting search results.

  1. Right-Click the selection of documents you wish to update with Batch Profile
  2. From the resulting context menu, select Batch Profile…

Batch Profile Tab

Enter new values in any document profile fields you wish to update.

Folder Profile Tab

Enter new values in any document profile fields you wish to update.

Options Tab

The Options tab allows you to expand the scope of the Batch Profile operation.

  1. By Checking Include sub-folders, the operation will recursively be performed against all children of the selected items.
  2. By Checking Overwrite existing data, the operation will write the values into the profile fields specified on the Document Profile wholesale nfl jerseys and Folder Profile tabs. When left unchecked, only existing empty fields will be updated and profiles that already had values will be unaltered.
  3. Click OK to execute the Batch Profile operation.
